Inspiring Peanut

Amaya's POV

One problem fixed just another to deal with now. I had to get that bitch off Kasume's life and I have no idea how to do it. I couldn't have told Jiro cause what would that do? It might just get her mad or sad enough to tell the whole school. Nothing was clicking as an idea. I was walking through city streets heading to the pharmacy to get Akina some cough medicine.  

Stray dog after stray dog along with random people kept passing me as always. My heart always went out for those animals, made me think about adopting a dog from the shelter. I love animals even back when I did track, I ran a program that helped the ASPCA and that raised a lot of money to get stray dogs off the streets.

I always go to the shelter to volunteer but no one knows about it except my sister of course, some of them were really sick, others disabled in some way but most hyper and fun to be around.

I even saw one in particular I fell in love with last week a white cocker Spaniel puppy, she had gold and white fur, big adorable black eyes and long fluffy ears  that she normally she tripped over at times and made me laugh. Her name was Peanut, no idea why but that's what they call her but she was one of those puppies who were bred in puppy mills, Her siblings didn't make it neither did her mom but she was still always hyper, and never looked sad once. I have no idea why people haven't adopted her yet but most people prefer bigger or older dogs but she's my best friend down there at the pound. I really want to adopt her but my mom wasn't sure about it yet since we just got a kitten named Ginger and only God knows how much I wanted her.

I sighed kicking the pavement below me on the sidewalk as I shoved my hands into my purple hoodie jacket thinking about her then suddenly turned from the pharmacy and headed down street to visit her. I opened the door that led to the information boot and smiled at the woman with brown hair at the desk. Her name was Amaya too, which was a bit creepy thinking she could be my future me but I shrugged it off because she was beautiful, had long flowing hair and dark eyes, she was loud at times, teasing, violent sweet, all the above, that scared me even more at times cause I felt like I described myself.  She chuckled at me when I put my arms leaning on her desk.

"Hey mini-me" she chuckled with a lolly pop in her mouth then I fused my lips together as I pouted.

"Hey"

She laughed a bit then gave me my white gloves "Here for some more work?"

"Kinda I'm also here to visit Peanut"  I grinned at her everyone who worked there
knew me and my sister by name.

"You two are so cute together"

I smiled at her "YEP so can i?"

"Of course hon you know where to go"

"Thanks" I smiled as I walked passed her into a hallway then into another room,
the man near a large door smiled and tipped his hat to me.

"Hi Yoshitoru"

"Here to work some more? I swear you stealing my pay check" he chuckled and I
smiled.

"Volunteer doesn't pay"

"But if it did I'd be out of a job"

I giggled a bit and smiled as I went into the door, filled with rows of cages
with dogs in them who all barked and wagged their tails at me, well the ones that
had tails. I walked passed each filling their bowls with dog food and water
giving each a pet on the head. I giggled a bit at those who licked my hand and at
one blood hound name Rider wanted my watch as a chew toy.

When I reached Peanut she was half asleep but when I got infront of her cage, she
jumped to her feet and started wagging her tail.

I giggled and opened the cage taking her on the floor and putting her into my
lap, the constant face licking I could still never get used to nor the constants laughing I did with it.

She had a purple bow on her tail that had a silver tag, then I looked around and
noticed a lot of them had some sort of fashion item on.

"Awwww" I smiled at them taking some dog food in my hand and feeding Peanut with
it, she whimpered a bit at my wrists then licks my face more gently.

"It's ok P, I'm fine"

She curled up into a ball in my lap resting her head on my arm, continuing to wag
her little tail.

"So cute" I muttered then saw the back of her sliver bow tag.

Niasha Pet Catour

My eyes opened wide as an idea clicked to my head, Kairi's favorite designer,
favorite clothes brand, was the aunt of the girl she was torturing. I got Niasha on
speed dial and she knew every single one of Kasume's friends by name. The two
most protective people in Kasume's life were my uncle Shisou who is her god
father actually and Niasha who scared even me at times if someone hurt Kasume.

Why didn't I think of this before? I DON'T KNOW. I rubbed Peanut's head and she
wagged her tail even more.

"Good girl" I gave her a kiss on the forehead (Yes I kissed her so what?) and placed her back into her cage much to both of us obvious sorrow.

"It's ok girl, I'll be back tomorrow I swear" I sent my hand though the bars and
rubbed under her chin.

She licked my hand and I smiled leaving the pet shop soon after to go to the
pharmacy then back home. As soon as I flipped onto  my bed I took out my cell
phone. Seeing a dozen missed calls and texts from Ria, Aika, Jiro, Taro, Saya and
Daichi even one from Riko.  I smiled a bit and called Niasha's cell. Only to get a busy tone, it was normal of course she was always busy but not unreachable. I got to the computer and decided to write her a very long interesting email.
